Describe going down an icecross downhill track for the first time:

-It was much more difficult than I had expected.  Nerves were high and adrenaline was pumping that's for sure!

How long have you been competing in ice cross downhill?
-I have competed for 5 years.  I got my start at St. Paul in 2013.

What first got you interested in the sport?
-There are quite a few athletes who are from my home town who compete.  I saw them get started and I knew I had to give it a try!  It was great to get that competitive edge back after being out of high school sports.

If there is one piece of advice that you could offer new riders, what would it be?
-Don't be intimidated by experienced riders.  Everybody starts some where and most guys are more than willing to share some tips!  Be confident and believe in yourself anything can happen in a race!

What is your best result or favourite memory at a Red Bull Crashed Ice?

-My best result was taking 13th at Afton Alps in 2015.  My favorite memory would have to be the race in Avoriaz France.  It snowed so much the race had to be cancelled which allowed us a full week of shredding the French Alps!

Minnesota Wild Defenseman Jarod Spurgeon.
